Dr. Kleinsmith started the Bloomfield Dermatology practice in 1989. She is a board certified dermatologist on staff at William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak. She graduated from Michigan State University and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Kleinsmith completed her dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital. During her last year of training, she was named chief resident and won a research award from the Michigan Dermatological Society. While on staff at Ford, she was involved in teaching and research. Dr. Kleinsmith served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Michigan and was the director of the West Bloomfield Dermatology Clinic. She was also a frequent speaker at national and international dermatology conferences and wrote several articles for peer-reviewed journals.
In addition to her clinical, teaching and research experience, Dr. Kleinsmith has enjoyed working with the media. She was a medical reporter on the Channel 4 Evening News with Mort Crim and Carmen Harlan for several years. She also hosted the television program "Health Talks" on Channel 4, and hosted a weekly "Ask the Doctor" radio program on WXYZ. She is currently a spokesperson for the American Academy of Dermatology, and a frequent consultant for national and local magazine and newspaper articles.
Dr. Kleinsmith practices general dermatology, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. She has a special interest in cosmetic treatments and procedures including Fraxel laser resurfacing, fillers and Botox. She is a member of the Michigan Dermatological Society, Oakland County and Michigan State Medical Societies and the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Watnick joined Bloomfield Dermatology in 1992. She is a board-certified dermatologist on staff at William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak. Dr. Watnick graduated with honors from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed her dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital where she was chief resident in her final year. She was on staff at Henry Ford Hospital for six years, where she was the director of the West Bloomfield Dermatology Clinic.
Dr. Watnick practices general and pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. She has a particular interest in skin cancer and challenging dermatologic conditions including severe psoriasis and severe cystic acne. In addition to her practice, Dr. Watnick has teaching and consultation responsibilities at William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak. Dr Watnick is president of the Michigan Dermatological Society and is past chairperson of the Legislative Committee. She is a member of the Oakland County and Michigan State Medical Societies, the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr Watnick has been instrumental in the passage of Tanning parlor legislation in Michigan requiring parental consent for minors to use tanning beds.
Dr. Chapman joined the Bloomfield Dermatology practice in 2000. She is Chief of Dermatology in the division of Internal Medicine at William Beaumont Royal Oak, Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine, Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine also Clinical Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine, Michigan State University College of Oseopathic Medicine..
Dr. Chapman graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM). She then went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at William Beaumont Hospital followed by a dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital. She was selected to be chief resident during her senior year at Henry Ford.
With her internal medicine background, Dr. Chapman has special interests in skin conditions linked with underlying medical problems. Her practice includes general dermatology, pediatric dermatology as well as cosmetic procedures like Botox, hyaluronic acid fillers and sclerotherapy for spider veins.
Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Physicians, Michigan Dermatological Society, Michigan State Medical Society, Michigan Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.
